ABOUT

I fell in love with Dance when I was four, and never stopped studying various styles and movements forms for all my life, starting with Ballet and Modern Dance, progressively focusing more on Contemporary Dance and Somatic Practices.

Embracing Pilates, Barre and Yoga as part of my training when I moved to London, I am still mesmerized by the infinite connections one could draw between all these systems and absolutely convinced they can effectively complement each other. 

 

Today I mainly teach Movement-based disciplines and sometimes perform or create, but my journey has been everything but linear, since I took my first dance class.

 

Probably too scared to really embrace what I loved and risk it all, but also an enthusiast student, I ended up completing a BA (Hons) and MSc (Hons) in Media and Cinema Engineering and a PhD in Cultural Heritage (Sociology of Cultural and Communication Processes) at Polytechnic of Turin, exploring movement-based interfaces and performative approaches in exhibition design. 

I worked as a post doctoral researcher at University of Turin focusing on the documentation and dissemination of contemporary art museums' intangible assets through digital media.

At the same time I started performing as a freelance dancer, taking part in interactive performances and projects with international artists, and developing a passion for computer-assisted dance and dance for the camera.

 

Only at 28, after coming to London for few months as a visiting researcher at Centre for Contemporary and Digital Performance at Brunel University, I decided it was time to make the big move, and leave everything to truly follow my intuition.

 

Once again I became a student, completing a MA(Hons) in Dance Performance at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance in London, where I toured as part of Transitions Dance Company 2015.

After graduation, besides mostly performing in museums and galleries, I created a collective with other friends and joined a socially engaged dance company.

At the same time I started incorporating Yoga and Barre more and more in my daily routine, eventually ending up completing a series of Teacher trainings and discovering the love of sharing what I have learned across almost 30 years of intense (and often frustrating and struggling) study about body and mind in motion.

 

Today I enjoy drawing on my multidisciplinar background to collaborate with other professionals in any artistic and scientific field, investigating movement in all its facets, and integrating everything I find relevant to our physical, mental and emotional wellbeing.
